Random Questions=Answers?
Posted by: misha

Some random questions came to mind for which I would love some answers from the readers out there (just how many of you are there, anyway?).

The first question I pose as I am expecting a second child and will be taking maternity leave in the fall, which means I will need someone to fill my shoes for a while. I find that people are daunted by taking on a group, especially one that they don’t get to start themselves. And I remember how nervous I was when I got started, and how long it took me to build my confidence and my personal style as a facilitator. Frankly, I’m still working on that.

 So here are the questions:

How have you built your confidence as a book group facilitator? As a member?

Why are you in a book group? What do you get out of the experience?

Did it take you a while to find the right group?

What have you learned through book group discussion?

Has being in a group exposed you to books you might not have read on your own?

How do you deal with discussions that didn’t go the way you planned?

What was your most memorable discussion?
