Uncle Stevie knows best

I want Stephen King to join my book group. At the very least, I want him to assist in selections. His short list of summer reading from the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly has more than a few gems suitable for summer discussions. Thoughtful and compelling titles that will generate conversation but keep that beach read feel that readers are looking for in warmer months.

Drood by Dan Simmons
He picks Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens and Drood by Dan Simmons to toss in his beach tote. What a great pairing for a single meeting summer book group! Perennial book group favorite Jodi Picoult makes an appearance with Handle With Care and our Uncle is not afraid to state proudly that he likes Picoult and her ability to plop a very large conundrum into the lives of very ordinary small-town folks.
From classics to dog stories to domestic dramas to nailbiters, your summer reading list is covered.
