More Summer Reads
Posted by: Admin
Though it still feels like April here in Chicago, the summer reading season has arrived. The Wall Street Journal just published “A Book Lover’s Summer,” based on recommendations from publishers, booksellers, agents, and readers. Among the fiction recommendations are The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson (which Booklist‘s Bill Ott says is the best
novel to come out of Scandinavia since Smilla’s Sense of Snow), and Pat Conroy’s South of Broad. Nonfiction picks include The Food of a Younger Land by Mark Kurlansky, whose Cod and Salt are classics of the “nonfiction that reads like fiction” genre.
