Please Join Me at ALA for Science Fiction: Past, Present, and Future
Posted by: Neil Hollands
For those heading to the ALA conference in Washington D.C., please join me for a program on Monday, June 28th. I’ll be presenting with author Cory Doctorow and professor Eric Rabkin on the topic “Science Fiction: Past, Present, and Future.”
Dr. Rabkin will provide an overview of the history of the genre. The always controversial and fascinating Doctorow will talk about what the future holds for the genre. My job is to provide practical advice for librarians in how to work with the genre, giving ideas for readers’ advisory, programming, and collection development.
I’m excited to present in such esteemed company. I expect to learn a lot and I think you will too. So if you’re in DC, please stop by from 10:30 to noon in rooms 209A/B of the Convention Center.
