One of the things I do to shake up my book groups a little is select a young adult title. Aside from looking over the National Book Award winner and nominees in the Young People’s Literature category, I ask for suggestions from teen lit fans, and I check this blog, GreenBeanTeenQueen.

Sarah is a Teen Librarian in Missouri and she writes about books, teen movies, the general adventures of being a teen librarian. She makes it very clear that her opinions and content are not affiliated with her library or any library committee.

I like Sarah’s rating system of 5 stars and she is judicious in handing out stars. Sarah gives honest reviews from a reader’s perspective which I find very helpful when looking for discussable titles. Recently she gave fair to middling reviews to two titles that didn’t knock her socks off, but they way Sarah wrote about them will have me seek these books out. Maybe they’ll be a good fit for one of my book gorups.

That’s what I like best about GreenBeanTeenQueen. The reader/reviewer’s perceptions. But I can’t spend too much time over there. Sarah is adding to my own TBR pile at a fierce rate.
