EW weighs in on good books
Posted by: Kaite Stover
I say this every year, but I mean it. I love Top Ten lists–books, movies, music, theatre, television, fashion don’ts, food, you name it, I’ll read the Top Ten list devoted to it.
My favorite Top Ten lists (after Top of the List) come from those culture mavens over at Entertainment Weekly. This year, quite a few book group favorites have garnered notice on both the Nonfiction and the Fiction lists. And if you rely on EW’s Uncle Stevie to round out your reading, he’s ranked a couple of discussion-worthy titles, too, from this year and previous years.
Before you finalize the lists for your book groups, take a moment to prowl the goodies saluted by the EW folks.

I love the EW lists, and its book review section in general. But I have to say, I have never once agreed with any of Uncle Stevie’s recommendations. He and I – we do not overlap.

I don’t always like what he likes either, but he earned my serious attention forever when he said he unabashedly like Jodi Picoult.
