Advice for starting a book group
Posted by: Rebecca Vnuk

Hopefully by now, you’ve all had a chance to view/listen to the Book Group Buzzing webinar from last week.  As I went through it, I realized one of the questions at the end was specifically asking for websites with advice for starting a book discussion group.

Here are some that I think will be helpful:

Reading Group Guides offers an article specifically on starting a new group, and  running your current group, as well as tips for what to do when there is no reading guide available for the book you’ve chosen.

LitLovers also offers advice on starting a group, and basic ground rules for running your group.

Real Simple magazine offers a quick checklist for how to start a new group.

And BookBrowse offers plenty of information on getting startedwhat to expect at your first meeting, and the basics on being the moderator, among other great tips.

These resources should get you off and running successfully!
