Pillow talk

In yesterday’s issue of Shelf Awareness Pro, issue 1799, in The Bestsellers section is the July list of Top Book Club Books from Bookmovement.

At the top of the list is 50 Shades of Grey.

This does not surprise me. That book is at the top of every list and TBR pile this summer. And I’ve heard from book groups all over Kansas City who are reading it. I’ve even heard from a 72-year-old reader who is reading it for her high school reunion book group (THAT’S the discussion I want to attend).

But I have to ask, folks. What are you talking about? Where are the talking points? The discussable issues? The debatable topics? I’m stumped, truly.

If your group has read and discussed 50 Shades of Grey, please post in the comments below.

I was 50 shades of disappointed after reading the “50 Shades Trilogy”. Although, I diligently continued reading I found myself failing miserably at keeping hope alive as I found volumes two and three fell through in my expectations in as far as the direction of where the story’s implications were leading.

I am now left with feelings of the frustrations of Annie Wilkes. Of course I would never resort to hobbling…..
