A Month of Great Reading and Talking
Posted by: Kaite Stover
For many people, October marks the start of autumn. For book group members, October is the start of lively conversation and colorful reading. October is National Reading Group Month, the annual book celebration from the Women’s National Book Association.
In addition to celebrating all that is pleasurable in talking about reading, the WNBA also supplies a list of Great Group Reads in October. This list could not come at a better time of year for many book group leaders. This is the month when many of us are beginning to plot out the reading paths for our book groups in the coming year. The Great Group Reads list is an inspiring place to start.
Here at Book Group Buzz, we are proud to be a part of the larger partnership with this annual biblio-celebration. For the fifth year in a row, Booklist has been selected as an official partner of the WNBA in this nation-wide reading initiative.
Book Group Buzz will serve as the official blog for National Reading Group Month. BooklistOnline will get in on all the reading action on the Great Reads page. Toggle over for reviews of these 20 titles and add some to the reading list for your book groups in 2013. Keep watching the blog this month for other suggested titles for discussion, book/movie pairings, awards, book group resources in print and online, and other tips for refreshing and revitalizing your book group.
It’s a perfect time of year to fall into reading.
